Separate each piece of the feeding system: bottles, nipples, collars, vents, valves.

Wash your hands with soap and water.

Rinse the pieces under running water and place small items in closed top basket or mesh bag.

Separate each piece of the feeding system; bottles, nipples, collars, vents, valves.

Add soap and run using hot water and heated drying cycle. Use sanitizing setting if available.

Rinse the pieces under running water and place them in a clean basin. Don’t set them in the sink.

Wash your hands before removing the pieces from the dishwasher.

Fill the basin with hot soapy water, scrub each item, and squirt water through the nipple holes.

Rinse each item thoroughly under running water and place on a clean towel to air-dry.

If the parts are not dry, allow to air-dry on a clean towel or paper towel.

NOTE: Extra sanitizing is not needed if you use a dishwasher with hot water and heated drying or sanitizing cycle to clean the feeding supplies.

NOTE: A clean basin/container and brush should be used for feeding supplies only. Don’t rub or dry items with a dish towel as it could transfer germs to them.

EXTRA SANITIZING Sanitizing once a day can help remove extra germs. It is most important if your baby is less than 3 months old, has a weakened immune system, or has been sick.

STORING SUPPLIES Be sure all feeding supplies have air-dried thoroughly. Items must be completely dry to help prevent germs and mold from growing. Safely store dry items in a clean protected area like a closed container or storage bag.

On the stove: • Fill a large pot with
