Day 6 Tips: Continue to feed baby frequently. You may still need to wake baby for feedings in order for your baby to get 8-12 feedings in 24 hours. 1. Continue to monitor wet and dirty diapers. 2. It is expected newborns will lose some weight during the first 5 to 7 days of life. A 7% to 10% loss is considered normal for breastfed babies. Most babies should regain this lost weight between 10 to 14 days of life.
